Why NonDairy Milk is So Much Better than Dairy

Whether or not you consume dairy milk, there's no denying that non-dairy milk is absolutely delicious. If you have never tasted the cool, creamy, nutty flavour of, say, pecan nut milk you're missing out in life. One of my favourites has to be coconut milk - it keeps well in the fridge, it's non-fattening, it can be used as a compliment to any food just like regular milk, and it is so delicious that once tried you will always want it. Non-dairy milk can be made from a whole range of nuts, grains, seeds and soybeans. The milk can then be stored in the refrigerator just like dairy milk (or it can be frozen for future use).

There is a myth that making non-dairy milk is complicated and that you need special milk-making equipment. Nothing could be further from the truth. Making non-dairy milk requires no special apparatus (just a regular kitchen blender). And if you have the ingredients to hand, you can make milk in less than ten minutes. One of the biggest advantages of making your own milk is that the ingredients can be stored at home almost indefinitely as ingredients can be frozen without affecting the nutritional value or the quality of the final milk.

This means you can make milk whenever you need it, and you will save money compared to the cost of buying milk, whether it is dairy or non-dairy. The biggest benefit of non-dairy milk has to be the health aspect. Pasteurized dairy milk is full of unhealthy things such as saturated fats, harmful galactose, cancer-causing hormones and mucus-forming casein, all of which cause illness in a variety of ways. Milk-consumers who switch to non-dairy milk experience a dramatic improvement in health after just a few days. So firstly you benefit by avoiding dairy milk, and secondly you benefit by enjoying the super-healthy nutrients of non-dairy milk.

Non-dairy milk is made from natural plant-based ingredients and is super nutritious. It is far superior to cow's milk in terms of nutrition - it is packed with health promoting oils and enzymes, vitamins, minerals, fibre, plant sterols that beat cholesterol, and many other healthy nutrients. You simply can't go wrong with non-dairy milk, whatever your state of health, diet, culture, or lifestyle. But don't just limit your non-dairy milk to the commercial brands of soy milk and rice milk that you can buy in supermarkets. Start making your own milk from a wide range of ingredients that are cheap to buy anywhere, and can easily be stored at home.
